Grow and Glow Sessions: What to Expect

Coming to something new can feel daunting, especially if you are already finding things hard. Many women tell us they feel nervous before their first Grow and Glow session, which is completely understandable. This women's wellness initiative offers invaluable community support through peer support sessions, helping participants feel more at ease. This page explains what happens at a Grow and Glow session so you know what to expect before you arrive.

ARRIVING AT A SESSION

When you arrive for the women's wellness peer support sessions, a facilitator will welcome you and guide you to your designated area. You'll have ample time to settle in, grab a drink, and find a comfortable seat before the session begins. There’s no rush and no pressure to jump straight in, allowing you to fully embrace the community support. Whether you choose to come on your own or with someone you trust, you are sure to feel welcome.

THE SPACE

Sessions take place in a relaxed, informal setting, fostering a sense of community support. We sit together in a circle so everyone is included and able to take part in the same way during our peer support sessions. The space is respectful and supportive, ensuring that what is shared in the group is treated with care and confidentiality, all contributing to women's wellness.

SESSION STRUCTURE

Each Grow and Glow session follows the same simple structure, which is designed to provide community support and make the experience feel predictable and safe. This consistency is intentional and enhances our peer support sessions focused on women's wellness.

The session includes:

• How has your week been

• Anything you would like to share or get off your mind

• Something you are grateful for

• A light-hearted question at the end if time allows

You are always free to pass on any part of the session.

TALKING OR LISTENING

There is no expectation to speak at Grow and Glow, where community support thrives. Some women share openly, while others listen quietly, and some do a bit of both. All of these ways of being in this supportive space are equally welcome. You do not need to have the right words, and you do not need to explain yourself during the peer support sessions focused on women's wellness.

ESSENTIALS BOX

At each of our peer support sessions, we provide an essentials box filled with free sanitary and hygiene items, including pads, tampons, and deodorant, as part of our community support initiative. These items are available to anyone who needs them, no questions asked, promoting women's wellness for all.

FACILITATORS

Sessions are guided by trained facilitators whose role is to welcome attendees, structure the peer support sessions, and help maintain a respectful and supportive environment focused on women's wellness. Facilitators do not provide advice, therapy, or diagnosis. Grow and Glow serves as a vital community support space.

AFTER THE SESSION

Some women leave feeling lighter, while others simply feel glad they came to the peer support sessions. There is no right or wrong way to feel afterwards, especially in a space that fosters community support for women's wellness. You are welcome to attend once or come back regularly; there is no expectation either way.

IF YOU ARE STILL UNSURE

If you are still unsure about attending our peer support sessions focused on women's wellness, or if you have specific questions, you are very welcome to reach out for community support before coming along.
