Grow and Glow was started in 2024 by Charley after realising there were no women-only peer support groups in the community. Having faced her own mental health challenges, and a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder, she wanted to create a space for women to feel safe, supported, and understood.
At every session we sit together in a circle and move through three simple questions:
If there’s time, we finish with a light-hearted grounding question like What’s your favourite sandwich?
Sessions run weekly from 7:00–8:30 PM. They’re free to attend, no referral needed, just come along.

I’ve struggled with my mental health for many years, and in 2023 I hit a breaking point. I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and took a year away from my job as a firefighter to focus on therapy and trying to piece life back together. During that time, I searched for a peer support group for women but couldn’t find anything locally. That gap made me realise how much it was needed — and it inspired me to create Grow and Glow.
I know how it feels to be in such a difficult place that getting through the day feels impossible. I know what it’s like to feel isolated and misunderstood. But I also know how much difference it makes to sit in a room where you feel seen, heard, and supported by others who truly get it.
What started as one small group in Epsom has now grown into something bigger than I ever imagined. Each week, women come together to talk openly, support each other, and find hope in the shared experiences of the circle.
Creating Grow and Glow has been one of the hardest but most rewarding things I’ve ever done. I feel proud every time I see the courage and kindness that women bring with them, and I’m so grateful to be part of a community that shows no one has to go through their struggles alone ❤️

I’ve struggled with my mental health from a really young age and hit rock bottom in 2022 when Anorexia took over and I nearly lost my life. I spent the next year and a half in hospital and daycare, slowly trying to rebuild. Recovery hasn’t been easy or straightforward, but I’ve come a long way — and I’m now training to become a therapist, which is something I never thought I’d be able to say.
I know how it feels to be in such a dark place that giving up seems like the only option. I know what it’s like to feel completely alone, like no one truly understands. But having come through that, I also know that things can get better.
There are still difficult days, but there’s so much I get to experience now that I never thought I would again. I’m currently working through my bucket list, because younger me never thought she’d make it to 24 — and that makes me feel really proud ❤️
I reached out to Charley because I wanted to be part of something that offered the kind of support I wish I’d had during my hardest times — something that didn’t require a referral or involve long waiting lists. I feel really lucky to now be supporting other women through their own experiences, while continuing to grow myself 🥰

Hi, I’m Kate, the facilitator for Woking Grow and Glow.
I first joined the group in March 2025 at the Guildford Group during a really challenging time in my life. I was feeling lost, unsure of myself, and struggling to picture what my future could look like. A friend recommended Grow and Glow, and from the moment I began attending, the incredible facilitators and the amazing women in the group helped me rebuild my confidence and find my sense of direction again.
Being part of this community has truly changed my life, and I feel so honoured to now be able to give back as a facilitator. I’m a big believer in women supporting women because when we come together, share our stories, and lift each other up, there’s really nothing we can’t do.

Mental health has been a part of my life for quite a while now. Growing up, I saw close family members struggle with their mental health and addiction. Sometimes I felt lost trying to support others, all while putting my own mental health on the back burner. Everything reached a breaking point in 2021 when I had a nervous breakdown.

Luckily, I was supported by amazing family and friends and was able to rebuild, with the help of therapist, better and stronger than before. Since then I've always wanted to give back but just couldn't find the right path to turn my passion into action.
Then, during a chance meeting (I head up a professionals mental health group) I met Charley and learnt about the incredible safe space she had created with Glow & Grow, she really brought light from the dark. Her passion was contagious, and I knew I'd found what I'd been looking for. I started attending the Guildford group and was blown away by the power of being with women who listen, uplift and validate each other. The camaraderie and love shown to almost complete strangers is overwhelming. I knew this was a place I belonged.
When Charley mentioned G&G was attempting to open in Woking, it felt like fate! I offered my help, and now I'll be facilitating.
Im really excited to meet all the amazing women who will walk through our doors.
